Terroir
The grapes are sourced from terroirs located in Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. The vineyards are situated at the foot of clay-limestone hillsides, with great east/south-east exposures.
Producer
Frédéric Leprince follows a traditional and personal approach to winemaking, referring to his wines as "self made wine". Grapes are harvested by hand and fermented using only indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in barrels for 12 months, and viticulture focuses on sustainable growing with controlled yields.
Wine
This Chardonnay is known for its balance of freshness and roundness, offering a precise nose and a palate of great finesse, with subtle flavours that reflect the nobility of the great white wine villages. It shows the full, slightly buttery character reminiscent of a classic white Burgundy, one of our personal favourites for that reason.
Vintage
The 2022 vintage was marked by a hot, sunny summer but was saved by timely June rain, resulting in generous yields. This created Chardonnays that are surprisingly balanced, concentrated, and ripe, yet show fresh energy and beautiful purity of fruit.
Pairing
A great match for chicken and turkey. Suggested pairings include a slice of farmhouse bread with truffled butter.
Serving
Serve chilled, ideally between 10 to 12 degrees. Pour gently and allow a few minutes in the glass for the elegant aromas and finesse to unfold.
