Terroir

The grapes for this Chardonnay are sourced from meticulously selected parcels in Burgundy, where the soil is rich in limestone and clay. The philosophy of Kuheiji is entirely centered around respecting the natural cycle, applying Japanese precision to French soil. The vineyards are managed with the utmost care, ensuring every vine receives the attention needed to capture the pure, mineral essence of the land.

Producer

There is a fascinating story behind Domaine Kuheiji. Kuheiji Kono, a legendary Sake brewer from Japan, became captivated by how French winemakers express their 'terroir.' He decided not to just import wine, but to cross the ocean to Burgundy and start his own estate. The result is a unique cross-pollination: the patient, almost meditative approach of the Sake world combined with the centuries-old traditions of the Côte d'Or.

Serving

Serve the wine between 10 and 12°C. Give it a few minutes in a large glass; you will notice the wine slowly opening up, revealing more layers of its floral and mineral character.
